[REVIEW] Innisfree: Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask

Saturday, 26 March 2016

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask
What Innisfree says:
The revolutionary, award-winning pore clay mask is now in a mousse form for much easier application. Innisfree’s Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask still carries the same exceptional benefits of the regular volcanic clay mask, but in a form of mousse. This makes it easier to dispense, more hygienic and much lighter onto the skin. With Jeju volcanic ash as its key component, this mousse mask effectively removes dead skin cells and impurities while tightening the pores to give a smoother skin surface. Its 6,020mg jeju volcanic clusters increases the overall efficacy of sebum absorption which makes it a perfect skincare product for people who have oily skin.

I've tried the pore clay mask (Eliza has it, which she'll review one day I think) and it was exactly what I feel a mask should be like- you could feel your pores tighten. This mousse version is infinitely easier to apply- not like the extreme effort you had to use with the clay mask- but the effectiveness in my opinion is slightly less. You only need a TINY amount to spread across your whole face and it's an even smooth application. Wait time is from 20-30 minutes, during which you can feel the mask dry and harden. If you don't keep a straight face for that long, you'll get giant cracks across your mask which is actually quite fun.

I don't really see any dramatic changes to my skin after using this product other than it being smoother, but I guess it's more of a over time effect- will keep you guys updated on that. But it's definitely a fun thing to apply when you feel like you need that extra TLC.

Application: 10/10
Feel on skin: 8/10 (Slight tingly sensation)
Effectiveness: 5/10 (Although need to use it more often)
Scent: light clay smell? Not in any way terrible or overbearing

Rating: 7/10
Would buy again?
This bottle will last me forever!!! Will most likely try other Innisfree masks instead, but this product is lovely. Hooked on Innisfree.

[REVIEW] Lipstick Queen: Jean Queen

Saturday, 19 March 2016

Lipstick Queen: Jean Queen
What Mecca says:
Jean Queen is a lovingly created special pink that offsets the blue in denim and lights up your face at the same time. Super silky feel on the lips and just the right amount of shine to contrast with the very matte nature of denim. Suits all skin tones, ages, and denim styles. The perfect solution to add some glamour to your casual (and not so casual) looks!
Lips completely bare ; slightly dry
Take me back to 1925
Love the metallic packaging look- kinda has that industrial feel
With just one swipe of the lipstick on

Okay so how do I feel about this? Jean Queen is one of those lip products that feels comfortable. It's like a glorified lip balm with just the right colour that makes spending $31 absolutely justifiable. It's for those casual days where you don't want the hassle of maintaining a lipstick but you still want a nice splash of colour to add to your outfit. It's moisturising and easy to wear and I really really like it. True to its name, this colour goes lovely with denim blue. It won't be one of those products that I would rave about to a friend but it'd be one of those products I'd chuck in my bag and carry around always.

The colour is easy to build up but I find just wearing a swipe of it gives me the colour I want. It's a pretty pink colour that sometimes goes a little coral on me.

[REVIEW] Etude House “Dear My” Blooming Lips in RD305 BRISK RED

Saturday, 5 March 2016

Etude House “Dear My” Blooming Lips in RD305 BRISK RED

On a trip to Korea back in 2014, Eliza helped me pick up this pretty colour from Etude House. When I first laid eyes on the lipsticks from Etude House, I knew it was inevitable that someday one will eventually make its way into my collection. The gorgeous packaging makes applying this lip so fun and definitely something I envision a princess’ vanity to have.

“ What Etude House says:What it is Various girlish-pink colors inspired lipstick with lightweight and soft texture.
What it does - Vivid color on lips: Feather creamy gel by fumed silica gel texture for soft and outstanding colors to express clean and clear lips.
- Smooth wear: It provides comfortable and smooth wear with relaxed fitting complex. Smooth powder system is applied to make creamy-soft lips.
- Rich nutrition & moisturizing: Moist Liquid Paste system is applied to hydrate lips with Hydro-moist complex. ”

On the box and when you look at the lipstick in person the colour is very true red. Because the tester ran out in the Etude House store I never got to try it on myself before buying, I had totally different expectations of the colour. When I actually wore this colour, I was surprised by how “korean red” it was; meaning that there were very pink undertones to the lipstick. It’s also brighter than I’d originally thought it’d be.

However this actually works out because it makes me feel very girly which is what Etude House claims these colours were. The lipstick glides on  smoothly and doesn’t dry out my lips. This colour is also quite long lasting and when you wipe it off it leaves a slight pink tint behind which is something I love.

I can’t say the colour is one of my to die for swatches but I’d definitely purchase more from Etude House even if it’s just for the packaging!
